For me, makeup is never enough and last month, the few days I was in London, I took advantage to select some basics that could be missing in my makeup bag. It was a makeup haul more based in eye products from Nyx, Sample Beauty and Inglot. Still, addicted as I am in red lipsticks, I had to add to my collection the most popular red lipstick from MAC and to complete my October’s makeup haul, a face product from Fenty. Here is the review of all these beauties.
Living in Tenerife is amazing, apart from the fact, that online orders don’t really seem to work over here. No wonder, when I went to London last month, I had to compensate and bought every piece of makeup that I considered essential for my makeup bag. These are all the items I got:
- Nyx Epic Wear Liquid Eye Liner;
- Nyx Ultimate Shadow & Liner Eye Primer;
- Sample Beauty The Immensity Eyeshadow Palette;
- Inglot Eye Essentials Set;
- Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer;
- Dior Backstage Small Eyeshadow Blending Brush No 22;
- MAC Matte Mini Lipstick Ruby Woo;
- MAC Mini Clear Lipglass.
NYX EPIC WEAR LIQUID EYE LINER

Nyx Epic Wear Liquid Eye Liner is available in 13 colours and I got the traditional black. The reason I purchased this eyeliner was because my favourite eyeliner from Nyx finished, Nyx Matte Liquid Black Eyeliner, and unfortunately has been discontinued. I took some risks and decided to give a try to the new Nyx Epic Wear Eyeliner. Do I regret? I actually do. It’s nothing like the previous Nyx matte eyeliner I was used to.
Nyx Epic Wear Eyeliner takes ages to dry, transferring all the time to the crease of my eyelid, causing a difficult application and another massive con is that it’s so hard to be removed. I understand that it’s waterproof, but not even with the most powerful eye makeup remover or cleansing oil, I managed to remove completely this eyeliner.
If you are sleepy by the end of the day when you are removing your makeup, then stay far away from Nyx Epic Wear, because it’s like trying to remove a tattoo. For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend this eyeliner.
NYX ULTIMATE SHADOW & LINER EYE PRIMER

Nyx Ultimate Shadow & Liner Eye Primer has 4 shades (light, light-medium, medium-deep and deep) and I got the shade light. I have to say, I wish Nyx on the display of this eye primer would advertise better the different shades, since I only found out after I bought it, that there is a total of 4 shades. I thought “light” was the only colour.
Focusing now on the texture of the product and if it is or not effective. Ultimate Eye Primer has a light texture, it’s easy to apply, has vitamin E to nourish even the driest eyelids and it does prepare the eyelid to hold any eyeshadow or eyeliner. Although there are a few tricks to use this product. This is how I would advise you to use this primer:
- Use concealer first on your eyelid to conceal any darkness on the eyes,
- Apply powder to set the concealer,
- To avoid moving the concealer, pat Nyx Ultimate Shadow & Liner Eye Primer on top,
- Wait 2 minutes until it dries completely
- Once it’s dried, you can apply any eyeshadow or eyeliner.
The disadvantages of this primer are: it’s not thick enough to hide darkness on the eyelid, hence I recommend to apply concealer before and it isn’t good for a quick makeup, because it takes time to dry. Nonetheless, I would still recommend this product, because once it dries, whatever is applied on your eyes after, it will stay forever. For example, I applied on the back of my hand and after so many washes, I still had it on, even on the following day! See picture bellow.

SAMPLE BEAUTY THE IMMENSITY PALETTE

Sample Beauty The Immensity Palette is the must-have eyeshadow palette for colourful makeup fans, which is my case!
For the price of this palette, £9.95, high pigmented colours and how easy the eyeshadows are to apply (one application is enough to give you all the colour vibrancy), this palette is like a diamond when compared to Morphe 35B or BH Cosmetics Take Me Back To Brazil Palette.
Morphe and BH Cosmetics palettes have been reviewed by me in this article, click here. When compared to those palettes, The Immensity Palette has the advantage of being a smaller palette, meaning easier to carry, I can take it with me every time I travel, and is focused in the colours that really matter when you want a colourful makeup. The shades Diligence and Colossal are the only ones that have a bit of glitter.
Check the video further down to see the look I created with these beautiful eyeshadows.

Inglot Eye Essentials Set includes a waterproof gel eyeliner, duraline and an angled brush. I had so many makeup artists colleagues recommending me Inglot eyeliner and finally I decided to switch the MAC gel eyeliner (click here to see it) to Inglot and I should have done it a long time ago.
Inglot gel liner has a perfect consistency for a perfect cat eye winged eyeliner. It’s soft, yet the black is dark as it should be and it dries quickly, avoiding situations like I mentioned above with Nyx Epic Wear Liner.
I still haven’t tried duraline, but I definitely needed it, in case my gel liner dries out or if I want to mix it with eyeshadows to create a pigmented eyeliner. Regarding the brush, it’s a good angled brush and I used it for the video further down, however there is better brushes to apply a gel liner, for example, nail art brushes are perfect to achieve a thin and precise eyeliner.

FENTY CHEEKS OUT FREESTYLE CREAM BRONZER
Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer is an amazing face contour bronzer. The cream texture flows evenly on the skin and it can be used even on top of powder. Some contour creams are too greasy to be used on top of powder or are just too chalky.
Fenty Cheeks Out is an essential if you like contour creams, it blends nicely on the skin and has a perfect size to be carried in the bag.
There is 7 shades and the one I chose for me is Hunnie Glaze and trust me it does look like a perfect “glaze” on my cheeks.

DIOR BACKSTAGE SMALL EYESHADOW BLENDING BRUSH NO 22

Dior Backstage Small Eyeshadow Blending Brush No 22 is a must-have eyeshadow brush to get a glamourous cut crease perfectly blended. The small and soft brush is ideal to blend eyeshadows inside the eye and transform smokey eyes into a “piece of art”. I should have had this brush years ago.

MAC MATTE MINI LIPSTICK RUBY WOO

MAC Matte Lipstick Ruby Woo is the most popular red lipstick in London. I had so many customers whilst working in retail as a makeup artist that always praised Ruby Woo. I have now the mini version that I can travel easily with. Ruby Woo is a beautiful red lipstick that enhances my red lipstick collection. The only tip I would give you is to make sure to hydrate your lips before applying any matte lipstick.

MAC Mini Clear Lipglass is like a clear lipgloss with the perfect texture for glossy eye makeup. I wanted for ages Lipglass, but everytime I went to MAC to buy it, it was always sold out. When I saw the mini version in Boots I knew I had to have it. See the video down bellow to see how pretty it looks when you use Lipglass on the eyes and on the lips.

CONCLUSION
From all this makeup haul, my favourites are Sample Beauty The Immensity Eyeshadow Palette and Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer.
The only product I regret buying is Nyx Epic Wear Waterproof Eyeliner.
