Makeup Shopping Haul: Too Faced, Dior, Natasha Denona, Benefit and Vichy

As I published last week, when I went to Sephora, I did some skincare shopping, but not only, some makeup items came along too. This makeup shopping haul includes some best sellers that I wanted to try for a while and finally got the chance to. Did I like the famous Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and Lip Injection Maximum Plump? Check the pictures to find out more and read the review about the other products such as Dior Addict Lip Maximizer, Natasha Denona Face Glow Foundation and another foundation that I got from the pharmacy, Vichy Liftactiv Flexiteint.

I went through all summer desiring some new makeup, so when I went to Sephora I just thought what possibly needed to be restocked in my makeup bag. Mascara and a light foundation for summer, for example, were definitely a must buy in my makeup shopping list.

After satisfying myself with all the bits I got in Sephora, I still felt I was missing a good dewy foundation, which I end up getting in the pharmacy, from Vichy.

Overall, these are all the makeup items of this shopping haul:

  • Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara,
  • Too Faced Lip Injection Maximum Plump,
  • Sephora Natural False Lashes,
  • Natasha Denona Face Glow Foundation 42 Medium Yellow Beige,
  • Vichy Liftactiv Flexiteint 55 Bronze,
  • Dior Rouge Blush 459 Charnelle,
  • Dior Addict Lip Maximizer 012 Rosewood,
  • Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil 4 Warm Deep Brown.

Let’s review them.

On the right side you can see the result of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

It’s been years that I wanted to see for myself if Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is as good as everyone says. Verdict: yes, it is worth it! The hourglass shaped brush successfully separates, curls and volumizes lashes. Will I buy it again? Yes, I will, but in the waterproof version, because I noticed by the end of the day, the normal version it can smudge your eyes and give a panda eye effect.

Before and after applying Too Faced Lip Injection Maximum Plump.

Too Faced Lip Injection Maximum Plump is the latest addition in their Lip Injection collection. I tried before the Lip Injection Extreme, the previous version, and at that time I was really impressed. Could Maximum Plump be better than the Lip Injection Extreme? I truly think they are very similar, but maybe because I have lip filler now I couldn’t see that much of a difference. When I tried Lip Injection Extreme I had no fillers and I did feel that my lips became more plumped. What I would definitely say about Maximum Plump, when compared to Extreme, is that the plumpness lasts longer. With Extreme, after 3 hours, my lips would come back to its normal size, with Maximum Plump instead, the plumpness lasts at least half day.

To get long lasting plumped lips, Too Faced recommends to use Maximum Plump every day, for one week. If you do so, be prepared to have your lips tingling strongly every day and when the weather is hot, the tingling effect seems even more intense.

Last but not least, I prefer the light pink tone that Maximum Plump has than the transparent Lip Injection Extreme. The light pink tone works like a nude lip gloss. Love it!

Sephora Natural False Lashes when applied

Sephora Natural False Lashes are just perfect for a natural look. Very easy to apply. I would definitely recommend them if you go to a Sephora store.

Before and after foundation. The side “with foundation”, Natasha Denona and Vichy foundations were mixed together.

When I went to Sephora, I asked the sales assistant to suggest me a light dewy foundation for summer. On holidays, I love glowy makeup to highlight my tan and I only had carried with me my matte foundation from Lancome. The sales assistant advised me Natasha Denona Face Glow Foundation in shade 42 medium yellow beige. After a few days, I put it on my face and I wasn’t pleased with it. I wanted more of a dewy finish. For me Natasha Denona Face Glow Foundation is more like a semi-matte light foundation. Plus, the shade I took was totally wrong for me. I don’t know how I didn’t notice it, but maybe because I got more tanned afterwards.

That led me to buy another foundation and when I went to the pharmacy and saw Vichy Liftactiv Flexiteint Fluid Foundation Anti-wrinkles 55 Bronze, I was almost sure this would be better than Natasha Denona. The anti-aging foundation from Vichy it did give me the dewy finish I was looking for and I can tell is more hydrating than Natasha Denona Face Glow . The shade that suits me of Vichy Flexiteint, 55 Bronze, it can be dark sometimes, so at the end I found the perfect combination when mixing Vichy and Natasha Denona foundations together as you can see in the picture.

If you have oily skin like me, the secret to apply a dewy foundation without looking oily is applying a very thin layer of foundation and after putting on top a powder only on your most oily areas.

Dior Rouge Blush
Dior Rouge Blush in shade 459 Charnelle

Dior Rouge Blush in shade 459 Charnelle is my favourite blush at the moment. It looks so subtle and natural. I love the light pigments that this powder blush has, enhancing the dewy skin finish that I like to have in summer.

Before and after using Benefit My Brow Pencil in shade 4 warm deep brown.

Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil is one of my favourite eyebrow pencil, besides Nyx Professional Makeup Precision Brow Pencil. Benefit eyebrow pencil is ideal to draw small precise strokes, giving a natural filled brow look. I got the shade 4 warm deep brown.

Before and after applying Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in shade 012 Rosewood.

I have to declare that I am totally addicted to Dior Addict Lip Maximiser in shade 012 Rosewood. It’s such a nice nude lip colour and the minty effect combined with hyaluronic acid transform the lips beautifully into a more plumped, sexy and fuller look. For summer, this lip gloss is the best, because of the mint effect

If I have to compare Dior Addict Lip Maximiser and Too Faced Lip Injection Maximum Plump, I would choose Dior. However you can choose them according to seasons. For example, for winter, Maximum Plump is better. Why? Well Dior Lip Maximiser has a mint effect that if the weather is cold and windy, the mint effect becomes uncomfortable. In winter it’s preferable the spicy tingling effect of Maximum Plump. From this you can deduce that Lip Maximiser is better for summer. Either way Dior Addict Lip Maximiser is a must have!

  1. Dior Addict Lip Maximizer,
  2. Vichy Liftactiv Flexiteint,
  3. Dior Rouge Blush.
