Leggings are part of every woman wardrobe’s and if you like to use them with crop tops, eventually you came across with the “camel toe” awkward situation. To prevent this situation, I did some research to find out what the fashion market offers to help women feeling more comfortable when the “camel toe” gets highlighted by leggings, tight trousers or shorts. I discovered underwear that is “camel toe” proof. However, there is more available in USA than UK and hopefully this article brings some attention to a gap in the British market regarding the “camel toe” proof underwear.
I came across last year with the embarrassing moment of my “camel toe” being noticed by my boyfriend, after I bought some leggings. Back then I only came with two solutions, using a pantyliner or getting a “camel toe” self-adhesive insert, which by the way is totally useless. Since I wasn’t satisfied with the solutions I got, I was eager, this year, to find a better one.

JIV ATHLETICS
JIV ATHLETICS – The #1 Cameltoe Proof Underwear is a very safe way to keep you away from the “camel toe”. All the reviews I read and videos I watched on youtube about it, were all consistent that this underwear really works to hide the “camel toe”. Why? Because they use a full coverage gusset that conceals any sort of “camel toe”.

Now the disadvantage of being the leader brand in this type of underwear is that it gets sold out pretty quickly. I couldn’t find my size (small) in any of the categories I wanted to buy: low rise, mid rise or high rise thong.

You can only find the size L or XL. Not even in the website REVOLVE, which would be the easiest way to buy them from in the UK market, the small or medium size aren’t available. After realising this, I kept looking for other brands.
SEAMLESS THREAD
Camel No® by Seamless Thread was my second option for “camel toe” proof underwear. The prices are the same as JIV Athletics, around £30, the reviews were good too and the colours available seemed perfect for me.

Once I selected the underwear and the size that I wanted to add to the basket, my happiness was over when I noticed that the shipping to the UK would be £30, meaning I would have to pay £60 for 1 thong! I instantly quit from the idea. Next option…
THINX
My ultimate solution was period underwear, since they are padded like the brands above. I thought as well of cycling shorts or equestrian underwear, but the way they are padded is too thick for leggings.
Thinx provides a thong that seems pretty comfortable to use whilst wearing leggings and when exercising. I just ordered a pair in Asos and once I tried them I will update this article next week, to let you know if it works or not to prevent “camel toes”.

CONCLUSION
Unfortunately there isn’t that much available in the UK market in regards to “camel toe” proof underwear, which hopefully will change over the next years, considering that after the “pandemic” lockdown, most women got used to wear leggings more often than before. I truly expect that this article will bring some awareness to the gap existing in this area. Even worldwide, more lingerie brands should invest in this type of underwear.
Let’s see if my ultimate option of period underwear will save me from the “camel toe”.
UPDATE

My last option to prevent the camel toe with period underwear, from Thinx, it actually worked.
Below you can see the pictures and verify that Thinx padded thong is the best solution available in the British market to hide a camel toe.

Stay active and safe! Wishing you a positive week!
