This year seems to be an exciting year for makeup. It’s only the third month of 2018 and there’s already so many exciting new products. I must express my happiness to see how beauty brands are becoming demanding and year after year, they are delivering better makeup products, textures and shades. It doesn’t matter your skin type or skin tone, there’s everything for everyone, you choose!
On my previous post, I said March would be focused on skin and along with these amazing 2018 new launches, we have the so long waited Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and the relaunched Giorgio Armani Face Fabric Foundation. I had the chance to try both and I want to share with you how they felt on my skin.Take into consideration that my skin is very oily, so finding something that it suits me, it’s a hard job. Let’s get started with my review about Nars foundation!
Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation – This easy to blend foundation has a smooth feeling when you apply it on your skin. It’s similar to foundations like Too Faced-Born this way and Giorgio Armani-Luminous Silk. It’s a buildable foundation with a light consistency that gives a natural glowy effect. Another quality I like about this product is that it doesn’t flashback when you take pictures, which for special occasions is perfect. I also like the fact that there is a big range of shades: 33 shades! Amazing!
Considering all the pros and cons, unfortunately I wouldn’t buy this foundation, because even though it felt great, when I applied in the morning, towards the end of the day, it started to look very greasy, so I have to say it doesn’t suit oily skin as mine. Maybe if you mix with a matte foundation it works better and probably you will get a very nice semi-matte finish foundation. You can check the picture above and see how my skin looks when I just applied it and how it looks after 10 hours. It looks matte when I put it on, but sadly after it went so oily.
Giorgio Armani Face Fabric Foundation – I must confess I am a big fan of Giorgio Armani foundations, so I was super excited to try this relaunched foundation. They have improved the formula, because it doesn’t oxidized as much as before. It has a very light finish, hard to build if you want to get more coverage, but it sure gives a fantastic velvet touch to your complexion. I don’t know why, but my skin always adapts easily to very light coverage foundations, so it wasn’t a surprise to realize that this foundation is perfect for my oily skin. Of course, to go out, I wouldn’t use it, because it’s so light. Looking at the picture above, my face is the example of the advertising “second skin makeup”, it seems I don’t have nothing on, although my skin tone is even and it looks super healthy. I love how it feels, it’s a comfortable matte foundation that has a soft mousse texture.
To apply this product there is a trick, that my colleague explained me and it works perfectly. You need to use a fluffy soft brush, like a powder brush and then blend it in circular movement. This way you will get an even well distributed finish.
If you find my review useful, please put a like and also let me know what’s your favourite foundation, if you have oily skin.
Thanks everyone that has supporting me so far!
